Experienced Sheep Shearer - Seasonal Position Available

Since its inception in 2019, Jono’s Sheep Services has been dedicated to delivering tailored and expert services to hobby farmers across South Australia. With a commitment to excellence, the company has grown to provide a comprehensive suite of offerings beyond traditional sheep shearing. This includes expert alpaca shearing, dynamic sheep trading, health examinations, ram leasing, reliable livestock transportation, and extensive consulting for hobby farms and livestock management.

Jono’s Sheep Services is actively seeking a skilled shearer who not only excels in sheep shearing but also thrives in engaging with hobby farmers. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, ensuring that every client interaction is informative and supportive. This role involves a spectrum of responsibilities, all performed with a customer-centric approach, including providing expert advice on livestock care, performing health evaluations, administering vaccinations and treatments, and consistently delivering the high standard of service that is the hallmark of Jono’s Sheep Services.

• Shearing Proficiency: Ability to shear sheep of various breeds efficiently, in a timely manner and with precision.
• Driving and Licensing: Competence in driving manual vehicles, managing trailer operations including towing, attaching, and reversing, and possession of a valid driver’s      license.
• Customer Service Excellence: Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on clear, empathetic, and effective communication.
• Livestock Knowledge: Familiarity with or the eagerness to learn vaccination and drenching procedures and other operations for livestock, particularly sheep and      alpacas.
• Independence and Teamwork: Capability to work autonomously with initiative, as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Clearance: A current police clearance check certificate or willing to obtain a police clearance check.
• Learning and Adaptability: No minimum years of experience required, but a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new skills is essential.

$372.96 per day for up to 8 hours of work.
